Senior players and managers were recognized before the game. Cheerleaders brought the run through and the awesome Derby Drumline performed during pregame festivities! Thank you to the Cheerleaders, Drumline, Color Guard and Pantherettes for helping to make this a memorable night for our players and thank you to Lucas with Power 93.9 for such an awesome job announcing the game!
Seniors recognized were Austin Steadman, Joey Whalen, Kris Dugan, Jared Kientz, Bryce Jones, Chris Hoffmann, Marcos Garcia, Bryan Sammons, Craig Taylor, Nathan Garrison, Wyatt Smith and managers Tabitha Benedict and Alyssa Ortiz.
Austin Steadman scored an unassisted goal with 35:30 left in the first half. Halftime was Derby 1, Valley Center 0.
Christian Gilmore scored off an assist from Larkin Feikert at 24:04 in the 2nd half.

Varsity is now 13-3 overall, 5-1 in AVCTL Div 1, and should head in to Regional play next Tuesday, October 28th at Panther Stadium. Panthers are still seeded #1 in the 6A Southwest Region so they should receive home field advantage throughout Regionals. Seedings and pairings will be this Saturday, October 25th.
