Post Season Awards Part 3 - 6A ALL STATE SOCCER

There has been nothing published yet in the Eagle (The Northeast Coaches have not completed their balloting yet) but on November 19th the Eagle published a listing they referred to as All SWCA Region which was truly the Southwest Region part of the All State Selections:

1st Team All State
Austin Steadman - Offense
Nathan Garrison - Goalie/Defense

2nd Team All State
Ty Drake - Defense

Offensive Player of the Year - Austin Steadman
Coach of the Year - Mike Frazee

These were voted on by the Southwest Region Coaches, each region voted for their offensive player and Coach awards.

Congratulations to all and Good Luck in the future!
 

Post Season Awards - Part 2 - ALL SOUTHWEST REGION

The Kansas Soccer Coaches Association name their 2008 6A All Southwest Region Teams:

Austin Steadman - 1st Team All Southwest Region - Offense, Austin is also named  All Southwest Region Offensive Player of the Year.
Nathan Garrison - 1st Team All Southwest Region - Goalkeeper
Ty Drake - 1st Team All Southwest Region - Defense
Jared Kientz - 2nd Team All Southwest Region - Offense
Christian Gilmore - 2nd Team All Southwest Region - Offense
Coach Mike Frazee is named the 6A All Southwest Region Coach of the Year.

Congratulations to all!
I will update the site again as soon as All State Awards are published.

Derby Soccer Banquet

The 2008-2009 Derby Soccer Banquet will be held Monday, November 17th at the Derby High School in the Commons area. Memory Books and End of year shirts should be ready to distribute at the banquet so please make sure you are there to enjoy the end of year celebration!

10/30/08 Derby vs. Dodge City REGIONAL FINALS

Derby loses a heartbreaker to Dodge City tonight,  ending score was Derby 1, Dodge City 2.
Dodge City scores first in the first half. Score is Derby 0, Dodge City 1 at halftime.

Austin Steadman ties the game 1-1 on a beautiful breakaway with 9:00 left in the 2nd half.
Derby has several opportunities and shots on goal but unfortunately when Bryan Sammons scores to make it 2-2 around 2:00 left in the 2nd half for Derby, the referee calls the goal back on what he says is a foul and Derby is unable to converge another score.

Varsity ends the season 14-4.

Congratulations and Thank You for a great season Panthers and thank you especially to the Seniors - you have made this last 4 years very enjoyable for your parents and fans!
